Title 1 Annual Family Meeting

At Winona Elementary, our Title I program supports every student in meeting high academic standards and strengthens the school-home partnership. As a Title I school, we receive federal funding to enhance our educational program and provide additional resources. This ensures all students have access to high-quality learning. These supports help us improve instruction, boost student achievement, and create meaningful opportunities for family engagement.

The Title I Annual Family Meeting is an important chance for families to learn about resource use at Winona. In this meeting, we share details of our schoolwide program, academic goals, and how we support students through quality instruction, targeted interventions, and extended learning. Families also learn their rights under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), including staying informed about their child’s education and collaborating with the school.

A key part of our Title I program is building strong family partnerships. We believe that when schools and families work together, students succeed. At Winona, this includes family involvement, clear communication about student progress, and shared responsibility for learning, using tools like the School Family and Community Compact. Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where families feel valued, informed, and empowered to support their child’s education.

Winona Elementary is committed to continuous improvement for all students. Title I funds help us provide staff learning, strengthen instruction, and offer extra support where most needed. These efforts support our mission to create a safe, purposeful learning environment and help every student succeed with skills for lifelong learning.

We encourage all families to join the Title I Annual Family Meeting and stay engaged throughout the year. Your voice and support help every student at Winona thrive—every kid, every day.
